Arie DeHaan – President

“I learned everything from the bottom up.”

Arie was born and raised in the Netherlands and accredits his success to a strong business and work ethic. Upon moving to Canada in his early twenties, Arie began working in residential construction. Before long his strong business background led him to form his own company in 1988 under the name DeHaan Construction, as a framing sub-contractor. It wasn’t until September of 1995 that Arie became a registered builder in the Niagara Peninsula and incorporated the company to now be known as DeHaan Homes Inc. Humble beginnings have given Arie the advantage in the home building business, and his passion and love for building is visible in each and every home he builds.

Jason Boks – Project Manager

Jason’s integrity and experience has been invaluable to us.” – Arie

For over 20 years, Jason has been Arie’s right-hand man, and is responsible for initial site work, and co-ordination of trades and sub-trades throughout the entire construction process. Jason’s formal training in carpentry with specialization in residential construction, as well as added experience in commercial construction and roofing, has given him the required skill set to ensure that your home-building process runs as smoothly as possible. Most importantly, Jason truly believes in what DeHaan Homes stands for and continues to be excited and proud of the growth and quality that DeHaan Homes produces.

Bert Boverhof – Service Technician

Bert has been an employee of DeHaan Homes for over 5 years, and continues to provide excellent service to customers and clients alike. He joined our team with a wealth of knowledge and experience after managing his own renovation company and working for a local building-supply company for several years. Every home is covered under Tarion new home warranty, and Bert is responsible for servicing needs as they arise during the building process and warranty period. He ensures that all final details are finished upon completion of your new home!

Brendan DeHaan – General Carpenter

DeHaan Homes has been a family business from the very start, and having Brendan as a team member speaks to this legacy. Prior to employment with DeHaan Homes, Brendan worked several years in the framing trade, and also received specialized training in cabinet making with a local company. He completed the Construction Renovation Technician program at Niagara College, and received his diploma in 2016. Brendan is responsible for most of the carpentry work in our homes, and strives to guarantee that each home is professionally crafted to suit personal styles as well as ensuring that the Ontario Building Code Regulations are met.

Jacob (Hagob) Arakelian – General Labourer

Recently hired in 2017, Jacob came to DeHaan Homes from Syria. Being a recent immigrant to Canada, Jacob relates to Arie on many levels and his work ethic is one of those areas. Jacob is a general labourer and is responsible for ensuring that all job sites remain clean and tidy, as well as preparing the sites for many of the trades and sub-trades. Although his construction repertoire is just beginning to flourish, Jacob is currently working toward completing online construction courses, and continues to pursue excellence in his work for DeHaan Homes each and every day on the job.

Rhonda McAvoy – Designer

DeHaan Homes believes a home should always express the personality and style of those living there, and is happy to offer this service to our clients through the expertise of their personal Designer. Rhonda has been working with DeHaan Homes for over 15 years, and has been a vital asset to our team in helping us achieve our clients’ final vision. No one knows the importance of final details and the attention to those details quite like Rhonda, who can help make your vision come to life, while remaining true to your personal style. If interior design is something you would like help with, Rhonda can be there for you every step of the way.
